Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania stars Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Varun Dhawan as Rakesh Humpty Sharma in HSKD is a worriless and fun loving young boy. He is a helping nature person who does not have motive of his life. His father has a book shop named ‘Vidya Book Centre’ in Delhi and Humpty gets happy by helping his father at the book shop. He spends time with his two special friends Shonty and Poplu. He is a very clean hearted guy who never hides anything from anyone and is always happy. Twist in the movie arrives when Humpty falls in love with a girl named Kavya Pratap Singh (Alia Bhatt).

Kavya Pratap Singh is a simple but fashionable and cool girl from Ambala who is a great follower of Kareena Kapoor. Whatever she wants, she achieves it and is always ready to help her friends. Kavya gets ready to marry with the boy of his father’s choice but when she realizes she loves someone else (Humpty Sharma), then she listens to her heart.

When Kavya comes to Delhi from Ambala for wedding shopping she meets Humpty who is a worry-free guy. Humpty thinks to meet Kavya whenever he sees her. With the help of his friends he gets succeed in getting information about Kavya and reaches Kavya’s friend’s marriage where Kavya and Humpty comes closer to each other. After her friends’ marriage Kavya returns back to Ambala. She knows that her father is a very strict person and will never accept Humpty and his love. Kavya and Humpty still wait for love in their life.

Angad Bedi (Siddharth Shukla) is the NRI man whom Kavya’s father chooses to marry with her. Story gets interesting when Humpty starts facing problems to impress her family and get attention of them.
