The movie 'Madras Cafe' is based on Sri Lankan Civil War and assassination of Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi during 1990s.The film is directed by Shoojit Sircar and starred by John Abraham, Nargis Fakhri and Rashi Khanna. the movie is to be released on 25th August,2013 and the official trailer was released on 12 July. The film was planned before the release of 'Vicky Donor' but the story needs a lot of hard work and research. Since the story of the movie is already available on internet but to show it on the big screen is not an easy task. After 'I Me Aur Main' and ' Shoot Out at Wadala', it is the third movie of John Abraham. In this movie to be released next week, John will be seen in the mood of war.

In this movie, an Indian Intelligence agent journeys into a war torn coastal island to break a resolute rebel group, only to discover a deeper plan by a faceless enemy united to grasp a common nemesis - India. The film is given the title Madras Cafe because the plan to kill Rajiv Gandhi was plotted at the Cafe.
