ਸਾਕਾ 1984 ਬਾਰੇ ਬਣਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਤੇ “ਪੰਜਾਬ 1984” ਫਿਲਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਲੰਮਾਂ ਚੋੜਾ ਲਿਖਣ ਦਾ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਇਕ ਚੀਜਾਂ ਜੋ ਚਲ ਰਹੀ ਬਹਿਸ 'ਚ ਕਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਬਣਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾ । ਫਿਲਮ 1984 ਦੇ ਸਾਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਦੇ ਹਲਾਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ, ਦਿੱਲੀ ‘ਚ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਤਲੇਆਮ ਅਤੇ  ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਖਾੜਕੂ ਲਹਿਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਫਿਲਮ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਫਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀ । 1984 ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਨੇੜਲੇ ਇਤਹਾਸ ‘ਚ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਅਹਿਮ ਸਾਕਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਸਮਾਜਕ ਪਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੁੰ ਨਿਖੇੜ ਕੇ ਜਾਂ ਅੱਖੋ ਉਹਲੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ । ਇਸ ਮਸਲੇ ‘ਚ ਹਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਬਣੀਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਹੱਕ ਵੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਹ ਜਾਂ ਤਾ ਸੈਂਸਰ ਬੋਰਡ ਜਾਂ ਕੁਝ ਲੁਕਵੇਂ ਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੁੱਦੇ ਨੁੰ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤੋੜ ਕੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ । ਪੰਜਾਬ 1984 ਸਣੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵੀ ਹਿੰਦੂਸਤਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਤਾ ਤੇ ਬੈਠੀ ਜਾਬਰ ਧਿਰ ਦੀ ਮਾਰੂ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਨੁੰ ਨੰਗਾ ਕਰਨ ਥਾਵੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਕਤਲੋਗਾਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਸੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੋਕਾਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਦਰਦ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਇਕ ਜਜਬਾਤੀ ਮਹੌਲ ਸਿਰਜਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ । ਇਹ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਿਆਸਤ ਬਾਰੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਜਾਬਰ ਧਿਰ ਦੀ ਥਾਵੇ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਦਾ ਕਸੂਰ ਕੱਡ ਦੇਂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ, ਸਮੇਂ ਨੁੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦੇਂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਾਂ...
